Flor de jamaica is the Spanish translation for hibiscus flower. This is one of the most popular agua frescas sold everywhere in Mexico. Agua de Jamaica is refreshing and its tart, tangy flavors very similar to cranberry juice make it the perfect flower to make a refreshing drink. Try it and love all its characteristics.

In the Caribbean Islands especially Jamaica, we put, sugar, ginger and cinnamon with a little wine or rum in it. We call Jamaica, sorrell.

Always a pitcher of agua de jamaica in my fridge. When I’m feeling extra fancy I use piloncillo and I add a little ginger, canela, clavo de olor, and pimienta gorda. Gives it a mediciny sweet yumminess

OMG!! I always get this when we go for Mexican food. How did I not know it was this easy??!! I just made some. I also added a cinnamon stick and a couple whole cloves to the mix and it's muy delicioso!! Thank you for sharing!

I keep gallon in my fridge but it's just Hibiscus and ginger, no sugar. I also use it as base for my smoothies instead of plain water. Hibiscus maintains blood pressure at healthy levels

Finally, finally, finally…someone has shown how to make flor de jamaica agua fresca! Thank you for doing this. I have asked for years at restaurants and everyone always looks at me like I’m asking to how to boil water 🤣😏
I hope you have other agua fresca recipes. 👍

My favorite. But I don’t put sugar just stevia. Also it’s a diuretic that I use for puffiness. I add a few flowers to my water no sugar but too many flowers make it tart. Love it

Thank you so much! I get this whenever I see it at a restaurant. I've seen the dried flowers at the store, but I didn't know what to do with them. Now I can have it at home!

Lovely juice. I make a portion of 7 Up with Cranpomegranate juice, its my go to juice but I find it too strong by itself. I used about 50/50 or slightly less juice with the 7 Up maybe 70/30 and find the carbonation and 7 Up flavor is a super combination. Interesting drink from flowers !

I have a friend who loves these, but he drinks it as hot tea instead of a cold drink. I think I’d prefer it cold, like this! The colour is so beautiful and I can just imagine how good this must taste!

I miss going to Mexico...I don't get tired of the food...you can eat a different homemade dish the entire year! Here in the states all we have is fast food in every corner💔🥺😭.

I’m putting the flowers into a 1, 5 litre pot with water and let it sit overnight in the fridge. I omit the sugar for health reasons but use a tiny amount of rhubarb syrup to it. It’s so good

Great video. I hate my new work schedule I can't watch these live. The video could have been cut down to 2 minutes but we thank you for the extra 3 minutes of "sweet and delightful" instructions.

We have these beautiful flowers growing in our yard. Would we pick them and dehydrate them? Would it work? This looks great!
