I love that you did not add sugar, the condensed milk and strawberries are sweet enough! Yum! I’m going to try this!! Thank you!!

I just made this drink. It is delicious. It doesn't need anything else. I love that this recipe doesn't require a bunch of ingredients. The condensed milk elevates the strawberry flavor x1000. This drink is so refreshing. 💓😋🤤

Ingredients:

2 1/2 lb. Strawberries, hulled (reserve 1/2 lb.)
3 c. Water
4 c. Milk
1 can (14.5 oz.) Sweetened Condensed Milk
Ice, for serving

Instructions:

Rinse, and hull 2 pounds of strawberries. Dice, and reserve remaining half pound for garnish.

To blender, add 2 pounds of strawberries, and 3 cups of water. Blend until smooth. Pour blended strawberries through a wire mesh strainer, set aside.

To a pitcher, combine condensed milk, milk, blended strawberry purée and the remaining half pound of strawberries. Mix, until everything is incorporated.

Chill for 1-2 hours. Serve over ice, enjoy!

I feel sense of pride seeing people celebrate Mexican culture. I don’t see another country celebrating Americans so it’s actually special

Those strawberries look amazing 🤤❤️❤️❤️ thank you for sharing the recipe as well as the history, I’m from the UK so we get taught nothing at all about Mexico or South American history at all at school! 🤦‍♀️

I'm not Mexican but I grew up on Galveston Island, Texas, where celebrating anything and everything is a must. Doesn't matter if it's Mardi Gras, Fat Tuesday, Lent, Martin Luther King, Jr's birthday, Cinco de Mayo, Emancipation Day, 4th of July... the entire Island... white, Mexican, black, African, German, Czech, Jamaican, Brazilian all come together and celebrate because everyone is equally important. Mexican culture has been so important to me because family is at the forefront and center of everything. Honoring your family and caring for young to old is a must. Even the deceased are honored. My family wasn't that close growing up but being included in my friend's family get togethers gave me a sense of what a true close family was and should be. ❤

I can tell those strawberries were nice and sweet! I don't even bother with them if they're not red through and through, like that.

I don’t do dairy, but coconut cream seems like a good alternative to the condensed milk.

Edit: guys I’m sorry, I mean CREAM OF COCONUT. It’s exactly like sweetened condensed milk.

It's celebrated by the US cuz the French planned to divide and conquer Mexico, if they happened to succeed, they were going to continue their tactics and continue to the north and do the same in U.S. but thanks to the Mexican people who fought throughout Mexico against them, overcame, weakened and discouraged the French and their allies to abandoned their mission. The French underestimated the Mexican people, because it was not only the Mexican military who fought but also the farmers both men and women.
