Two girls disappeared in our town, over 40 years ago. The entire county turned out to search. They were never seen again. I still pray for them.

How irresponsible to take children into the wilderness and then send one child back alone - no supervision... And then later shocked and surprised that the child disappeared. In my eyes that is gross incompetence and stupidity!

We had a bloke here who touted himself as an adventure hiker and he volunteered to take three women i knew out hiking through dense rainforest. They were way to unfit to even tackle it, but they went ahead. I was actually supposed to go, but it was too humid and had been raining so i knew it was all going to be mud. At about 3 in the afternoon, the guy put a post on facebook saying he had abandoned the women as they were too slow and if nobody had heard from them by 6pm, someone should go check on them!!! WTAF!?! Yes, they all made it out, but still... what a wanker.

The fact that the leader CHOSE to go the opposite path of the one Marco had taken and labeled….and made a couple other decisions (such as longer route back) that caused the group to become further separated from the lone boy AND a route that took HOURS longer…..to me suggests that he had something to do with the disappearance of the boy.

Maybe he had someone waiting on the other path for the boy in order to attack and murder Marco…..I can’t think of any other reason why there are SO many “coincidences” that put the boy in more danger.

From what I have read about the boy Marco Aurelio Simon, the scout leader Juan actually went ahead with Marco when it first left, 100 meters to two of the stones, before coming back to where the other boys were and moving ahead. Which means he could have done something to Marco and then hid him somewhere, before heading back to the other boys. Plus he broke a lot of rules of scouting, as a scout leader, you aren't supposed to let any of your scouts go alone anywhere or separate from the rest of the group. There are a lot of other things I found and to me it sounds like the scout leader Juan did something to Marco.

I know that in Brazil there has been a lot of cases of child trafficking, he might have even had help, like someone else who was waiting to take the boy, he even left the other scouts again, once they got to the base and returned to the mountain, supposedly, to find Marco, but instead he may of went back to where he had left the boy when he first went ahead with him at the start.

I don't think there was anything mysterious about this, nothing to do with UFO's or anything like that, I think this boy Marco was a victim of something disgusting done by this scout leader Juan. Meaning nothing to do with UFO's or aliens, just humans being disgusting humans.

But it's obvious that we will never really know what happened to that poor kid!

How was Marco going to get help exactly? Radio or mobile? Why wasn't Juan carrying a radio? Telling him to mark stones but not following the marks to go a longer route???
Seems to me the Juan arranged for the boy to be alone
Why did Juan abandon all the camping/hiking rules ? He allowed a young boy to go alone ahead - Was Juan's bank account checked? Child trafficking pays well

An unexplained dissapearance from a small community in rural Ireland in the early 1900s.. a man his wife and two young children vanished without trace in the very early hours of a June morning. A neighbour who had arranged to do some work with the man had waited at the end of the lane where this young couple lived, as the arranged time had come and gone the neighbour decided to go to the house and establish if everything was okay, on entering the house everything seemed to be in order and as he called out the names of the young couple he was met by total silence. His search of the immediate area produced nothing, he continued to call out the names of the family as he searched, to no avail. Pretty soon, word had spread around the community that this family had vanished. Search parties were formed over a wide area of the county, no trace was ever found. There were no means of transport at that time apart from horse or bicycle, and if they had used any of the roads they would have been seen, two adults and two young children would have been seen as the walked the roads. Railway stations were checked, all means of travel were checked, but the family had just vanished. The ruins of their little cottage are still there to this day.

I just found out about a case from my town who disappeared back in 2004. I was a kid then and he worked and lived within a drive of 3-4 minutes from my house. Name was Craig Frear. He went into a small wooded area and was never seen again. My town is virtually crime-free, so it's really weird he just disappeared. The guy was athletic and 17 years old, so unlikely he would lose a fight unless the killer (assuming he was killed) had a gun or large knife.

maybe Marco had a good reason to stop marking the stones like being chased for instance ?

Last story, what if Owen hadnt been put outside at all? Perhaps he died in the house, via accident or violence. The women concocted the story to save themselves from the law. This makes sense considering there was no social financial aid in that era. Owen would have been an exhausting strain on resources. A burden for the elderly woman.
By pretending he vanished, the Bobby searched the surroundings, but not the home.
The chair and coat were red herrings. The field workers not attentive enough to know if they saw Owen, or just a "person" bundled up. They saw no one walk to or from the home because Owen was never in the garden to start with.

My prime suspect in Marco’s disappearance would be the owner of the land they camped on. Why isn’t he mentioned as such? He had opportunity. He could’ve been a pedophile and he already tried to explain away the first tampering with the luggage as „stray dogs“ which sounds far fetched!! He could’ve met the boy on his way back, he could’ve arranged the open backpack and he could also have blown the whistle and even arranged the blue flashes to misdirect the investigation…

I agree he was “taken” from where the marking stopped I think that whoever, whatever took him was using the whistle not Marco Maybe teasing them, giving them hope or trying to draw them into the woods to do whatever to them
