I'm lucky to have this version of the song downloaded. I noticed that it's not up anywhere on YouTube anymore, so I'm putting it up for your enjoyment (looking forward to the copyright claims)

This was the version that got me into King Crimson, the version I grew up, and personally the best version of the song. Thank you for the reupload

Don't get me wrong. I love the other version but this version is one my of all time favorite songs.

Greg Lake's vocals on this version have moved me to tears. Naturally, I still go for the final studio master, but the genesis...nay, the anatomy of a song captivates my soul, whether it's this version or the many takes on the 1969 Recordings box set.

Said the straight man to the late man
Where have you been
I've been here and I've been there
And I've been in between
I talk to the wind
My words are all carried away
I talk to the wind
The wind does not hear
The wind cannot hear
I'm on the outside looking inside
What do I see
Much confusion, disillusion
All around me
I talk to the wind
My words are all carried away
I talk to the wind
The wind does not hear
The wind cannot hear
You don't possess me
Don't impress me
Just upset my mind
Can't instruct me or conduct me
Just use up my time
I talk to the wind
My words are all carried away
I talk to the wind
The wind does not hear
The wind cannot hear
I talk to the wind
My words are all carried away
I talk to the wind
The wind does not hear
The wind cannot hear
Said the straight man to the late man
Where have you been
I've been here and I've been there and
I've been in between

Thank you josh for uploading this. There is just something special about this version it just hits on a different level. I love Greg’s vocals on this and the mellotron in the back just complements so well

thanks Josh, I havened heard this for many years. I gave my record collection to a guitar store in College Park, Maryland to see them become floor covering. King Crimson, Cream, Jethro tull; it was worse than a car, motorcycle or guitar. Asoy geht es (that's German-Jewish slang called Yiddish for [well, so it goes])

I met Mr Fripp and he was very nice and a mentor to me

He said I was flakey and the staff was upset with me

I would tell him the places I've been including my memories before I was born and he would sneek up on me as I over looked the lake and find me talking and I would pause every time a gust of wind blew over me.

At first I thought he was some kind of creepy stranger but he said no way dude I'm a peaceful dude and a good guy and I'm giving it to you straight.

But most of all I remember the most special person in the world to me...TZY

He's native american and the gods let's say said before I was born that he is my soul mate.

I miss him so much ...I know he's away because it's about my recovery and he needs my memory to be intact so that what I say is 100% sincere and not precived as deceptive
