The Story of Notch Explained in 56 Seconds (The Creator of Minecraft)

In 2011 Markus "Notch" Persson released his game "Minecraft" to the public. He then sold Minecraft to Microsoft for 2.5 billion dollars. Notch has since made some tweets that have not been well received, and is no longer mentioned on the games title screen, as well as was not allowed to go to the 10-year anniversary of Minecraft, despite being its creator.

Completely erasing someone and all their references from their own game just because they have "controversial opinions" is definitely not right, if he was comitting some sort of crime then it would make sense but that´s not the case, regardless of whether you consider what Notch says right or wrong, he did not cross any line or commit any crime and getting basically "erased" from his own game because of that is absolutely ridiculous, he got punished for having his own opinions and thoughts

Kinda feel bad for Notch tho, he made the game, put YEARS into minecraft and then, everything related to notch in the game is gone

Him tweeting “it’s ok to be white” being considered a controversial tweet is pretty coo coo.
And most of these tweets I agree with. They are common sense whether you like it or not.

this is clickbait. the title says 56 seconds but the video was 58 seconds long. i am mildly dissatisfied.

I agree with those mentioned tweets.
I think it IS okay to be white (am I wrong?)
Feminism DOES mean something different than it did 25 years ago. It used to be about equality, but now it's about attacking men.
And I think Privilege is something enjoyed by a minority. (Like being obscenely wealthy), not people who are the majority, which is how normality and averages are defined. Oppressed minorities are underprivileged. It's not that the other 90% is privileged.
If I move to a country where 99'% of people are different from me, that doesn't make them privileged to be accepted as normal, it makes me different, and I have to adapt. A white person in Japan isn't considered underprivileged. They are just different, and you can't expect an entire country to change their culture to adapt to a few visitors.

I like how Re-logic(terraria creators) cares more about notch than Mojang (Microsoft) they literally put his name in the end credits while Mojang and Micocr$oft (the essence of greed) removed all the references to notch

Well I agree clearly he ain’t doing much good nowadays but he still made the game so he should still get his credit for things also it’s good to separate art from the artist

Is it weird to say I actually agree a lot with almost all of what Notch tweeted? Y'all are hating him for his beliefs, if you don't agree then just say nothing.

So people don't allow him to have an opinion? Damn, we as a society became so soft

Most of these tweets were completely fine and not out of line at all. Don’t really understand why this would be so controversial

“Totally laughed at”, the users responding were actually babies, they’re just being passive aggressive expecting some sort of incel validation. Notch is brave being able to speak his mind, it’s good to have someone as genuine as him in our censored world.

His statements shouldn't even be considered controversial. The world has gone absolutely nuts.

I’ve met some really hateful people in my time, and what Notch did doesn’t come close to true bigotry in my book. I’m saddened that the groups who believe they represent kindness, generosity, empathy, and ethical behavior believe it’s ok to banish someone over such trivial beliefs.. If this is how sensitive the group is, I’m not surprised many people don’t want to support them. You can spend decades supporting them, then do one mildly controversial thing and be blacklisted, left to fend for yourself. I don’t consider that the ethical/correct way to deal with mildly controversial statements, especially when he seems to be advocating for little more than self-pride.
