Notch was so rich after making the acquisition and was living in a mansion far away from his home in Sweden that made the man really sad and lonely on how wealthy he was with nothing else to loose yet already missed his old normal life before it came to play.

I honestly I’m a fan of notch and I think he’s inspiring to young creative minds and I think anybody would’ve taken that deal. And it happens a lot to creative people. Once their baby gets sold. Just look at Joe’s Lucas, Disney and his own company. Don’t want anything to do with him either. That aspect is quite sad in any business once you sell it because people want to make it their own thing and make people forget who had the idea first

Notch is the George Lucas of game devs. Makes a simple title to live out his dreams, said title gets extremely popular, decides to expand on it, everything he does gets instant hate from desperate fanboys, has enough, sells his creation to a multibillionaire company trying to move on with life, people continue to hate for selling his creation.
The difference is that George Lucas has passed his prime long ago, built up his life and had a loving family to return to when he stopped making movies. By selling Lucasfilm he basically just made his retired life a "bit" more fun probably.
Notch on the other hand, I feel like still had a lot of potential. For Lucas, laying down his mantle was like "I'm done, time to rest it was a nice work". For Notch, it was more like "I'm done, but have no idea where to go from here".

Too be honest I don't understand why people are still titling these types of videos "The rise and fall of Notch" Notch hasn't made any real provocative statements on Twitter since 2019 and has stabilized quite a bit. He responds nicely and modestly when he responds to people who tweet him about Minecraft. I don't know if this will continue but people should really be titling these videos "The Rise, Fall, and Rise again?" He has been relatively nice on twitter it's time that people recognize this.

It's also good to mention that Minecraft was originally titled RubyDung, before it was called Cave Game. The grass and stone textures are from RubyDung as well.
