It's very easy to create your own keyboard shortcuts in After Effects,
If you know how to do it.

The first thing you do is to click opt + cmd + ' (single quotation mark) simultaneously.
You can also find it in the menu under "Edit".

Here you have a list of all your commands and shortcuts in the bottom left corner and you also have a visual view of a keyboard to see what shortcuts you have and if you click any of the keys in this keyboard layout you can see, in the bottom right corner, all the commands that are assigned to this key.

For example, if you click O and cmd, you will browse for a project to open, if you click O and shift, nothing will happen, if you only click O, you will go to the latest Outpoint of the selected layers.

Let's say you want to create a shortcut for labeling a layer red.
If you search for "label" you will see that no shortcut is assigned to this command.

If you hold down any of the modifier keys, which are the dark grey keys, you will see all the shortcuts (or key combinations) where that modifier key is used.

As you can see, if you hold down ctrl, you can see that ctrl + R is available, so I'm going to click right next to the text "Red" and then, while you see a blue border, you click the key combination you want to assign to that command, in our case ctrl + R.

Now, your shortcut is created and if you want to remove it again, just click the little cross inside this square.

Is there any way to set up a keyboard shortcut for an "Effect/Preset". For example, I use "Generate > Fill" often, can that be made into a shortcut?
