I lost my dog to diabetes at 11 years old, he was the love of my life. If I hadn’t lost him I would have never discovered how important a fresh food diet is for dogs. He was my first dog, I trusted my vet and listened to everything they said. I remember going seeing Stella and Chewy at the pet store and bringing him home a bag, he absolutely loved it. He ate it for about 2 months, I took him to the vet for a check up and they told me he would “become over weight” to stop feeding him the raw chicken. Biggest mistake I ever made. My 2 year old rottie is now thriving on a raw diet, no stinky paws or breath, absolutely beautiful skin and coat, and truly living his best life. I could never ever feed a dog kibble again.

From my personal experience that part about the dog synchronizing with the pet parent is absolutely true. My dog knows when I’m sad or angry before I’m aware. A few seconds before I become aware of my emotional state my dog is often already trying to comfort me.

Regarding the longevity of dogs that spend much time outdoors, in addition to exercise and contact with soil, i suspect that not having to retain wastes (pee and poop), must gave a strong role in why they are not prematurely diseased.

I’ve always been anti yearly vaccines starting with my dogs and horses. I don’t feed raw but I do home made cooked food no carbs or cereal lots of veg and added fish daily he’s 11 yr old jack Russell in uk good diet and exercise, he keeps up with a 6 month old pup running. He’s had no supplements ever. Went to vet once to be neutered and chipped, first vaccines. My boy doesn’t look his age. Oh his treats are dried sprats no junk from pet shops. I’m a dog trainer and i share my dogs diet ❤

LOL your assumption at 6:00 that every mother knows what the proper human diet is... The Standard American Diet or SAD is horrific, the "healthier" we eat the sicker we become.
Whether talking about our own diet or our pets, there is so much "expert" opinion that researching the best diet quickly becomes depressingly confusing. I found my proper diet over 2 years ago in no sugar, very low carb, high fat keto-ish but now exasperated trying to figure out the best diet for my new Jack Russell puppy.

My dog, 11 and half aged can eat only beef, no fruits, no veggie. Everythings different makes him sich. That's may be because I rescued him in a bad situation 10 years ago. As he is 26 kg I cannot give him only fresh meet, so I give him canned meat (Stuzzy is the brand) with 100 gr. of fresh beef.

Are there any brands of dog food they recommend? They never seems to endorse any brands, who are supposed to be the experts. It hard for the average pet owner to navigate through the sea of choices. Aside from the homemade food, I would like to know what brand of commercially top grade dog food they would consider feeding their pets. Thank you.
