Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.

Good advice for sure !
I started reminding myself a few yrs ago to hit my 5 wood the same way I hit my 5 iron and it’s cut down my worm burners ever since
I think it made me put the ball back in my stance like you’re showing here.

Excellent advice, allmost like common sense, cause you explain all so extremely well and simple manner.

My Mrs has really big trouble from time to time hitting decent fairway woods. By my experience on her case there are three culprits.

1) Alignment is trending towards drifting into closed resulting a slightly more closed and therefore also a delofted club face

2) Rushing into the downswing without turning back enough and finally

3) Rushing into the downswing early hitting the ball too much with her hands. Hitting more with hands takes time away from the club head to catch up into impact and result an out-to-in swing path. Also, in her sixties the turn is not that long to start with. So the hands go too fast and stops her shoulders too early.

Either one of those mistakes would result poor shots, but put together they absolutely ruin the shot time and time again and detoriorate her confidence with fairway woods, which she actually hit quite allright, when the bits and pieces are where they should be.
