The BIGGEST CAT Dealer Down Under | Hastings Deering

In this episode, we went into the heart of Australia's Bowen Basin, where coal is king, and the machines that extract it are nothing short of colossal.

We were at Hastings Deering, the largest Caterpillar dealer in Australia, to get a firsthand look at the behemoths that make the mining around the area possible.

From the shops that build and care for the machines to the meticulous process of assembling them, Hasting's pulled back the curtain on what it takes to keep the coal flowing down under.

Stay dirty, everybody!

I can’t get over how small the jackstands look that support the massive haul truck framework. Like balancing a grain of rice on the tip of a pin.
Cool process ! 👍🤙

Really interesting ... I worked at 'Blackwater' back in the day, driving the 660's tractor/scrapers with huge hungry boards, before D11's and grading the hall-roads with a Cat14... how times have changed.. Love your channel and the bonus is; I can understand all you say... Onya Mate. Onya - is Oz slang = 'good on you'

Bro if yourr still in oz you should go do tour of caterpillar factory in airport west in Melbourne, it's massive and been there since I was a kid, would be great to see the day to day operations inside since it's mega high security you can never catch glimpse of what's going on inside, Cheers 👍👍 for the vids great work

Back in the 70's I saw a D-10 fall over aa 100ft high wall at a gold mine in northern Nevada landing on it's top and the roll over bar held it up the driver had a heart attack before driving off the wall we rolled it back on it's tracks check the fluids started it up and drove it out of the pit it was back to work two day later after the shop went over it

You'd love cutting edge engineering on YouTube, he's a master at rebuilding and making parts to OEM or better spec for these large machines.

When it comes to tracks, are they doing an entire machines worth of tracks (two sides) in 30 hours, or one side in 30 hours? And are they disassembling the track chain completely or are they rebuilding with a brand new chain and hardware? I've never worked on something as big as a D11, but I've torn apart and rebuilt two sides of a Hitachi 1200-6 (M33 bolt) in ~30 hours total which was a massive job compared to the usual tracks that come across my bench.

Pretty sad they had to re upload this video and censor some things even tho they weren’t even at a mine site. And just in the dealer yard
