My lights stay at the top of the tent an I use the dial only move the dial 4 times the whole grow an never move the light.

I want to hang in ststionary position and let the plant grow into the light. I try to have the dimmer on lower and have a more even canopy with minimal lower bud sites.

you talk in generalities...but not much about wattage, Par values or PPFD. I'm running 780W LEDS in a 4x4. I start my seedlings around 200 PPFD n they do fine. Bump it to 400 goin into veg, then again into flower. I keep my lights 21 inches off the canopy for max spread n 75% power on both gets me over 1000 PPFD at the hottest spot. My outdoor plants get bombarded by up 2000 PPFD daily so I know the plants can take it. I just finished a run where the Blue Dream took off n was getting 1500 PPFD for weeks...best bud ever! I also run a MIGRO UV-B bulb 1.5 hours a day in flower.
