Budget 2023: A budget with no big bangs

At the centre of the Chancellor’s budget was a push to get people working; better childcare provision, a lift on pension taxes, and more support for business.

Sky’s political editor Beth Rigby says this was a budget about trying to prepare the groundwork for possible tax cuts in the Autumn Statement.

Jeremy Hunt’s message was that the Conservative Party is back to carefully managing the economy after the chaos of Liz Truss.
