Cloning And Smart Use Of RFID Keycards & Fobs

This week I look at RFID Fobs, particularly if you live in an apartment or have any sort of access control requirements you'll be familiar with these keyring chips that allow access to various doors and entrances. The downside for someone who wants to get rid of keys is that sometimes you need to carry these even if you have managed to get rid of your physical key for a lock. This doesn't have to be a fob though and I'll show you how to copy these into stickers and wristbands to make them smaller and less of a issue in your pocket.

Note that you should check with whoever issued you with the fob before you copy it and there are many different types, frequencies and this video is for information purposes only. I'd highly recommend doing some research into your own fob before you attempt to copy or clone as I accept no responsibility for this going wrong or using the wrong type of reader or chip.

You can also break down then cover from the blue ones and stick the chip on the back of your phone :)

Great video, I definitely understand more then I did before, one guestion please, how would I write/copy a key fob to an identical key fob but it is a read only fob. The blue device you show doesn't work to do it but that device will copy and write on to the cheap fobs no problem, Thanks for any ideas help or directions all the best

I have the multi reader. Was able to copy cards of mine onto the included cards with reader. But for some reason I can't copy my cards to the blue keychain fobs that came with the reader, any idea what may be wrong. I understand that's not a lot of info, but figured it's worth me asking.

I have one of those home door keys from KABA. Its a key with its back being blue color and theres a card in there or something, that you put on the door lock and it opens the door. I wanna clone it but what frequency is it or decryption?

I think I'll stick to old fashioned metal keys thanks, they seem to be more secure. My phone is just a phone so if I lose it or it is stolen I haven't lost everything else with it.

I got the little blue reader/writer it came with several tags, I want to clone my home access, because of the number of times it beeps I'm guessing my access key is HID (Mircom) and the blank tags I got are EM4100 so no luck cloning it yet, what you said is that if I got T5577 cards, tags, wrists or whatever those are compatible with HID frequency right? Thanks!

@andy Nice video, i have question though. I have a handle door lock with access card same as hotels or so and not a high end i guess, but on that card our office put expire date. so such card will we be able to clone and duplicate or can we modify or remove its expire date by that 2nd device you showed. Remember those locks are nor centralized and nor computer operated. the office have a nfc black reader they place card on it and update it for one month each time. so what do you suggest from your experience. Plz help
