I have Galaxy S9 model G960U1. my data network is LTE but voice network
is CDMA 1XRTT. I have a feeling that’s the reason VOLTE does not work on
my phone even though its enabled and Sprint is offering it. How do I
change the voice network to LTE as well. Thanks.

GSM codes before smart phones is nothing new, I remember checking signal this way 20 years ago. it’s just now they might launch an app then displaying a bunch of information most didn’t understand in the past. But you did get me thinking, the Apple Watch keypad doesn’t have * or #, and even if it’s saved as a contact it won’t show me signal strength. I wonder how to check the cell strength on the Apple Watch?

The 4636 menu is actually quite useful, at least to me. I live in Germany near the French border and I frequently go over there. My phone will by default always stick to the German cell service, even if it's an extremely poor connection. With this menu, I can force it to only allow LTE so it switches to the French network when there is no more German LTE (which is usually before I even reach the border - yeah, cell service is really bad here). There are also shortcut apps for this when you don't want to type it in every time.
