Remember folks green doesn’t always mean good look at your cross numbers, a car can still have a nasty pull with all green numbers, and also depending on the stiffness of the suspension the numbers can change quite a bit when the driver sits in the car

For 23 years, I've always done my own wheel alignment using my own precision equipment.
A long string and a tape measure.
Works great.

One time, we had a VERY fat man, who drove a VERY tiny car, he came in for an alignment.

We aligned his car, and sent him on his way. He returned to the shop saying that his car pulls to the left.

We determined that his weight was the issue. We had to align the car with him inside, up on the lift.

It did not pull after that alignment 🤣🤣

First time in 40 years I took my car in for an alignment because I was tired of doing them myself. Got it back and it pulled heavy to the left and the steering wheel was way off center. When I got home I had to realign it myself. Lesson learned once again.

Been doing the string method now for years, bang on, even tyre wear . Got sick and tired of entrusting my car to an alignment shop only to find the wheel off centre or pulling to the side etc etc, do as much on your own car as you can.

My current car never drove straight since I bought it. No matter how many times I had an alignment. One day I discovered a bad tie rod and some other worn suspension parts. Replaced those and got an alignment. Drove straight with the wheel cocked to the left. Found a vid on here describing my exact issue. Did the entire thing myself. Now I’m happy

Mostly all alignment shop and people don't realize that at the time to align a car some pre requisites needs to be met. Like correct tires in good shape and the pressure corrected. Gas tank needs to be full, all accessories that usually is in the car
needs to be in position (jack, spare tire, etc) and windshield wiper fluid tank needs to be full. Those numbers will be different if pre requisites are meet.

Learned how to do alignments in college. It was the most fun ever cuz every bolt was so easy to turn.

Mechanic always says they did the best they can but you’d have to get a few parts replaced if you want it perfect

He’s waiting 5 seconds or so after each small rotation, he allows the tension to catch up with the bolt so there is no bind in the suspension when he tightens the lock nut, holding the entire assembly in place.

If the caster and camber have more than half a degree, it'll pull the highest negative. Toe and camber create tire wear. Toe and caster create pulling. The caster doesn't affect tire wear. And so much more

I did mine with a tape measure when i got to the alignment place a week later my alignment was perfect 👌

The second you straighten out the ball joint your toe adjustment will change. Make sure the ball joint is straight before securing the jam nut on the tie rod.

Make sure to properly load the car, be sure ur tires are evenly worn, make best that ur suspension parts are In good condition, realign after 150 miles of regular/moderate driving

Hope the subframe is aligned too

Now you have to tighten down the nut, which it looks youll need a few couple of turns while holding the inner tie rod in place. Not so easy getting it exactly on 0.00

Had an alignment done at a shop. Drove my car out steering wheel is off centered. Came back within seconds dude asked me if I hit a pot hole. I wanted to punch him in the throat.

When I replace steering link end I adjust it by eyez then go for a drive and check if it feels right, if doesn't then adjust again a little, after 3-4 of those you get the feeling and when you go to computer alignment it's almost always perfect, that's how they did it back in 70s 80s
