I've always lined up the tires on my Corvair with the string method. The back has toe and camber are adjustable on the air also

Slightly toe out is good on rear wheel drive cars because the front wheels will naturally want to push inwards under acceleration.front wheel drive cars should be the opposite as the wheels will want to toe out under acceleration.

Don't know if someone already said it, but a little bit of toe out helps the car initiate the slide better, it's how the pros run it 🤷🏽‍♂️ downside is top speed stability tho

This is what Americans did back in the day it’s nice too see everyone building and fixing and learning too make everything perfect by trial and error through hands on experience again, instead of paying a ridiculous amount for labor at a garage just cause of a piece of paper when these guys go into the back and watch a YouTube video just like us when they can’t fix something themselves

Tool seems well worth the $$, but i believe it is accurate for solid rear axles and not 4 wheel independent when measuring toe. And ya have to be on a leveled surface for best results.
