IMO, cable tester is DEFINITELY not optional. Many years in IT have taught me how incredibly, surprisingly, astonishingly, stupid often a crimp seats poorly and you end up with a botched cable end that needs to be cut and recrimped

U Can put it through the rj45 end. The crimp will automatically cut it to the length. Trust me i done that in college before and it took me ages
