Lucy (blind and autistic) performs 'Bach's Prelude in C' at King Charles Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle on 7th May 2023

Spectators at King Charles' Coronation Concert were in for a treat as 13-year-old Lucy Illingworth, who is blind, autistic and an exceptionally talented pianist, gave a jaw-dropping performance.

Lucy was previously voted the overall winner of Channel 4 show 'The Piano'.

For the uninitiated-this takes a huge amount of practice and talent to perfect this type of piece. I used to play piano in my teens and would never have been able to emulate her playing. She is an inspiration-good luck to her. x

J.S Bach would have been thrilled. I often wonder why he closed it so suddenly? But it is easy to forget that much of his music was composed for his 20, yes,20 with two beloved wives.

Why did it end before it ended. Did they think that 2 minutes is too long? For goodness sake, higher love and other songs in this concert were longer.

Not her mum but her school teaching assistant made to go because royal household security wouldn’t let the real teacher Daniel in because apparently his little badge made him high security risk. This just makes the fact that Lucy was still able to do this without him and a whole rigmarole of waiting and changing of plan with her autism even more remarkable. Credit to Daniel. Shame on them. Glad channel 4 documented that. She should’ve pulled out of the whole thing just out of principle. I’m ragin
