This is the best recipe on youtube as all the others use tin's of condensed milk instead of proper milk .
This is just how we used to have it in the UK thank you 🙏🙏

They don't show it in this video, but I have never found a 9" deep dish pie shell, that will work for this amount of mixture. I cut the recipe down to 1 and 1/2 cups milk ( I use half and half) just out of the carton (not scalded) 1/2 cup sugar instead of 3/4 cup, and I use 1/2 teaspoon of Cinnamon instead of the Nutmeg. It turns out great, and will fit in a 9" deep dish pie shell.

I followed this recipe to the letter, but My pie has been in the oven for over 45m. Still in liquid form as it was when I put it in the oven at the start

Hard to find custard pies today, and when you do, it's a mini pie that costs 7 dollars.

Looks yummy! Specially if you notice that seems like an onion-cheese pie with a raspberry and a blueberry on it. But i like anyway.

It feels so weird not cooking the bird this year. I'm compensating with pies. As a kid I remember eating homemade custard pies when we lived in the country. Only the elderly grammys made it and they made it well. I'm gonna make an extra one and hide it from my scavenging fam.

You said in the video that if using pasteurized milk did not need to be scalded. This is a failure, don't follow this recipe, I cooked for over an hour and it burned the crust edge. She says 30-35 minutes, if your going to do the recipe, you must scald the milk. 👎👎

I did not add hot milk :( Its in oven now.. took longer than 35 mins...So far 45..
