So many companies making it nearly impossible to recover a lost dongle. It’s not even an option on most websites where we buy them from’ leaving us to buy another headset entirely. Going wireless is cool and all. But I’d like to give my money to a company that isn’t going to screw me over.

most of bluetooth headsets can't give you stereo sound and mic at the same time - that's most important part imo

I lost mine together with the case. Now I'm in dilemma whether to replace or not. In my experience, the sound more pale, Teams stay in HSP mode and made the sound mono. My experience connecting the headset directly with laptop's bluetooth works better than Link380 I did not use it that much. But i feel sad losing mine regardless and it costs like MYR600 / USD130 in Malaysia for a replacement 🥲

What about the situation where the computer does not allow you to install software like most companies? If you have the USB dongle and headset, but are NOT allowed to install any new software to sync everything together, would the setup still work? Thanks btw! Thanks so much for posting this. As I was researching headsets I was puzzled how Bluetooth devices "need" their included USB dongles. (There are BT keyboards that do this too, BTW. Now those make more sense, too!)

I have razer x barracuda wireless, it works fine but after 2 months the usb dongle (type c) starting to fail and right after my soundcard can't detect anything from razer, so yeah now my headphones is useless for almost 3 months.. do you think its a dongle problem?? I have a Razer barracuda x and after I lost the dongle I can't play audio while recording audio at the same time so I have no longer a purpose for it aside from listening to music or just playing without recording.

I work for at a call site and we are not allowed to have Bluetooth connected headsets. If the headset has a dongle does that still count as a Bluetooth connection or is it as it was directly connected to the PC?

When using the dongle on my docking station, it's virtually unusable. If I connect the dongle directly to the laptop, it's much better, but I can have it stick out all the time...

The audio quality of built-in Bluetooth is extremely bad on Jabra headsets. While it may work in a pinch, you’d definitely want to use the dongle.
