With Logitech Unifying Software you will get the convenience of one tiny receiver you can leave in your computer and reduce the number of USB ports you use with your Logitech Unifying receiver. You no longer need a different receiver for each device.

Step 1 Launch the Logitech Unifying Multi-Connect Utility. Step 2 Plug in one Unifying receiver; remove any extra receiver from the USB port. Unifying receiver. You can select any combination, up to a total of six (6) devices.

NOTE: If you've lost the USB receiver to your Logitech wireless mouse, you can purchase it on Amazon and the good news is that Logitech unifying receivers can manage the connections for 6 or 7 wireless Logitech products at the same time provided they are marked with the orange unifying logo.

The program does exactly what the name says, it converts the Logitech Bluetooth dongle from HID (USB) to HCI (Bluetooth) mode! It's activated when you log in, and voila! you have your Bluetooth dongle, with which you can pair any other device.

Logitech's Unifying technology enables you to replace those easily-lost wireless receivers and maybe even free up a USB port. ... For this, you need to download the free Unifying Software from Logitech's site. Once the software is installed, just start the program and follow the prompts.

Pair with another Unifying receiver

Download and install Logitech Unifying software.
Press the Easy-Switch button to select a channel.
Press the Connect button. ...
On the computer, plug the Unifying receiver into a USB port and follow the onscreen instructions for completing the pairing.

Author forgot to mention that only Logitech USB receivers with an orange star on top, known as "Unifying" receivers, will work with the instructions shown. Not all Logitech USB receivers are compatible. Logitech unifying receiver is around $5 online.

I broke my USB for my mouse and was able to use this tutorial to take a USB from an old mouse I had that no longer worked and sync it with my current mouse. It worked amazingly, thank you so much!

Thank you for sharing this useful information. I'm trying to pair an old USB Bluetooth dongle from and wireless mouse, to a PS3 controller. I tried using the Scp toolkit and it works fine if the controller is wired but no luck with mouse dongle.

I have a Gear Head brand mouse (lost the receiver - not Logitech brand) so can this method still be used if I buy a replacement Dongle to pair with the mouse?

It's not working for the K230 keyboard. The unifying software just keeps saying that there's no unifying receiver, even though a bluetooth receiver is plugged in... pathetic.
