📌OUR BLENDER ADD-ON LINKS BELOW👇
Hey Everyone. In this video we share how you can create simple volumetric spotlights in Blender 3d to create a nice light ray effect. This technique is faster to render and more controllable in the vfx compositing process than the standard way of putting a cube of volumetric mist in your 3d scene. This tutorial is for Blender but the concepts can be applied to any 3d program with lights and volumetrics such as Maya, 3dsmax, lightwave, Houdini, cinema4d, and more. Enjoy and let us know what VFX tips you want to see next on the channel!

Never thought of parenting a cone...clever idea! One quick tip: After adding the light, add the cone and set the origin to the point of the cone and then zero out its Z location. Then parent the cone before moving the spot anywhere...this will give perfect alignment automatically and will scale from the end of the cone instead of its center.

Is your viewport rendered running on cpu or something? Looks really slow

cool idea, unfortunately it seems in eevee, any shape, no matter if it's a cone box or circle gets rendered as a bounding box. So doesn't help much there unfortunately

Mine is having render issues. Unless I'm right next to the light you can't see it. I was gonna make a cool light house light but you can't see the light any further than about 2 yards. Can anyone help me?
