Something it took me ages to learn is that I don’t need an outfit in the exact same colors as the inspo I saw. Maybe the person has a slouchy pink sweater and black pants but I have a slouchy blue sweater and grey pants. Unless the outfit is 100% about the colors, I can usually recreate something very similar using things I already own.

This video was SO well done! I was a huge shopping addict (still recovering.. still have my moments 😭) and I consider a lot of the rules you apply.

Two that are super important to me and more unique to me:

Will my chest fit in this? If it does, will it be “too much” for the situation I’d wear this in? Does the item (in my size) have a zipper in the back and will it actually zip up because of my chest?

If it hurts my eyes because the pattern is too wild (usually smaller checkered, not traditional gingham lol I have it very well identified), even if I love it, I can’t have people’s eyes hurting when they look at me 😅

Great advice Jess! I just bought an expensive jumper from Everlane after reading great reviews. My verdict is that it’s itchy and there’s fluff falling out everywhere. I’m sending it back for a refund! If it’s not comfortable and just sits in my wardrobe there’s no point in keeping it!

You're glowing in this video! Something I like to keep in mind too is color. I've noticed that I may like a color, but the tone isn't working for my skin tone as well as it could. Clothes are kind of like the makeup of the body

Where you been? Good to see you back. I turn 61 this January and I trying to do more intentional thrift shopping, but I have been doing pretty good last year of not shopping thru September to November and finally did some shopping in December for Christmas presents for Granddaughter. I can relate to the girls big time because I am a 34H (😤) and it kept me out of a lot of cool finds. My goal is dopamine dressing this winter because I need the mood swing. I am trying to not save statement items for special occasions or events but figure a way to wear them to the grocery store if need be. Thanks for sharing and blessings to you and all in the new year.

The breasts are the biggest issue for me, I feel very limited for not being able to wear many designs because they don´t fit well in my bust because of their size, that´s sad.

Not shopping but decluttering. Give myself a time frame 6mo - 1y to wear it. If no, bye! I rotate drawers and switch hanger directions to delineate

Jessica, this is a super great video. These questions are very helpful and really allowed me to put my spending habits into perspective. I think I am very easily influenced to buy something because I like the and I never realized that until this video! Mind blown! ❤
