In this podcast episode, I share the simple yet powerful tool of intermittent fasting. Here, I discuss:

- The types of intermittent fasting with a focus on “time-restricted eating,” in which fasting is extended to 12-16 hours a day (from the more typical 8-10 hours).

- Why it makes good sense from an evolutionary standpoint.

- What it has to teach us about our metabolism and our brain’s use of energy.

- The health conditions it is has been shown to be beneficial for.

- The main mechanism by which it impacts the brain.

- My experience with intermittent fasting.

- When fasting can become problematic.

I read “Low carbohydrate performance”. Will be interested to see where the science takes us.

Myself I went from a vo2max of 48 to 63ml/kg/min over a 3 month period. My assumption was the dramatic reduction in oxidative stress was the predominant factor. There is a caveat; however, hydration becomes more important but I’ve noticed it gets easier, at least it’s adapting to require less attention for myself over time.

You cannot argue with the calmness ketones bring 🕊️

Could intermittent morning fasting 08:00 p.m.-11:00 a.m. become a problem with defiencies(b6, methionin) present? What is your opinion on a vegatary diet in combination with intermittend fasting for undermethylater(high histamine, low b6)+low serotonin symptoms+ pyrrole disorders+high oxadative stress? It seems in some cases just simple meat (omega 6+protein and b -vitamines) could be a good nutrient package...thank you
