What Does God Want Me to Do?

Father Mike Schmitz offers some clarity regarding God’s will in our lives. He directs us to the story of Israel’s desert wanderings in the Old Testament and the Annunciation to Mary in the Gospels, describing how even the tribes of Israel and Mary had to be content with the uncertainty of God’s will at times. Father Mike also teaches how we can discern God’s will even in the silence.

"God's never going to ask you to make decisions based off what you don't know." THANK YOU. I needed to hear this so bad. I keep thinking of myself in all these different careers and going after different vocations in my life, but some of the things are things that I really have no knowledge about. Knowing that I'm right where I need to be and that God will introduce to me anything that He wills for me is like a load off of my chest.

when i was in Bible college the big question was "who should I marry?" one of the profs said, "until someone asks you the answer is easy: NOBODY!" :-) so true. thank you for this timely insight, Fr. Mike.

A little over a year ago, after watching this video, I faced my fears and told my mother that I wanted to become catholic. She wept bitterly, but as any good mother does, she picked up the phone and started calling people. It’s thanks to her, and the providence of God that I found my priest and was able to become catholic. She herself has now pondered often on become catholic herself. So please pray for her; a mother who supported her daughter, despite the sacrifice it cost her.
Jesus Christ be Praised ☺️🌹🌹🌹

I got teary eyed listening to this. I’ve been freaking out about what my vocation is supposed to be for two years and even more so since I’ll be starting college this year. I’m just so afraid that I’m going to mess up whatever my vocation is supposed to be, and the more time I spend with God, the more I think about how bad I am at discerning and so I’ve kind of been avoiding God because of that. I don’t know how to stop being afraid. It seems like everywhere I turn there’s always a fear keeping me from continuing

Is he the coolest priest ever?! I really like him. I am a turkidh exmuslim convert to catholicism but there are few christians here so priests are never really turkish. Our priest only knows 2 words in english and 1 word in turkish 😂😂😂

It can't be anymore clear than this...
Matthew 25:35-40

35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,  I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

My God, he is the spitting image of my earthly father. Even his steely ice blue eyes. My earthly father passed in 1999, and seeing this is very comforting and reassuring. As if my earthly father is talking to me. Not to mention my heavenly father.

I've always felt God in my heart. After my mother got sick I started to question everything. I couldn't understand why God let so many things happen. I wanted to deny Him and thought it was all one big lie to keep us under control however there was a part of me that no matter how bitter I was I still loved God. Today I woke up not feeling very happy and guilty so I went through youtube and found your channel and I just wanted to say thank you for renewing my faith and clearing up my confusion. I feel strong again. I dont feel lost and afraid. God bless.

Whoa. I just found out about Fr. Mike today from Redeemed Online, and I binge watch all of his videos in this channel. I've never met a priest this witty in my country (at least in my nearest parishes) who can deliver so much for such topics. Thanks Ascension Presents, thanks Fr. Mike for this very simple yet thorough explanation esp.on topics of vocation. God bless.

I wish more priests were like Father Mike when I was growing up (warm, compassionate, easy to understand), maybe I'd still be a practicing christian today despite my own major differences of opinion with the Church.
