[FIXED] Straight Talk New Verizon SIM Card Not Working (No Internet)

Have you had your Straight Talk cell phone service turned off because you didn't switch over to the new Verizon SIM and now you can't get the new SIM to work?

Don't worry, we can get you back on the network quickly in this video.

If you already received one of the Verizon SIM cards that were being mailed out a couple months ago, don't bother trying to follow the instructions that came with it. I believe the SIMs were already force activated and no longer require activation. Trying to activate an already activated SIM won't get you very far.

Here's the steps that worked for me.

1.) Remove current SIM, turn off phone and let it stay off for a couple minutes
2.) Insert new SIM that was sent a month ago and then turn on the phone
4.) The phone should start to be able to receive and make phone calls after a few minutes of being turned on but will likely not be able to access the internet via mobile data
5.) Go to settings, connections, mobile networks, and then Access Point Names (APN)
6.) Check to see what you're connected to. Mine automatically connected to a new APN but my wife's was stuck on an old one. Do not try to edit a current one (my wife's wouldn't allow it), just create a new APN
7.) The new APN settings were as follows: Name: Tracfone, APN: TRACFONE.VZWENTP (I didn't change any of the default settings after that)
8.) Switch to the new APN
9.) Phone should immediately work for internet using data

Let me just tell you how appreciative I am of you right now. This was my first time with them and the worst time. I just bought a expensive verizon unlocked note 20 ultra and after activating the data did not work. HOURS of them calling me, me calling them, chat etc with no success, your video two minutes and 36 seconds in exactly provided all the help i needed. Thank you so much for posting this!

You're a lifesaver. I switched from US Cellular to Total by Verizon almost a month ago, after having US Cellular for 3yrs. I made the switch to hopefully get better coverage and save money. Switching over was frustrating due to the long process and long wait times over the phone, but I was finally able to talk and text with the new plan. However, I was not able to use mobile data from day 1. It was just grey and refused to work. I've called multiple times and they always repeated the same steps that never worked. Was beginning to feel like maybe I switched to the wrong carrier, until I found this video. Tried it, cause why not, and was excited to see the grey 4gLTE symbol FINALLY light up and work for me. Thank you so much for your advice!

This worked. I fought with straight talk for hours and yet this youtube video was the key. I tried the chat. I tried calling them. I spoke to multiple people and they ghosted me.

Just switched to straight talk, started the transfer process on Saturday evening. Tried doing myself on the website. Waited and waited and nothing was working yet. Sunday came and chatted with a few reps, nothing. Then chat with someone that says the porting department doesn't work weekends 🙄
Finally got transferred to ST on Monday, had talk and text, just no data. Talked to several people yesterday and today, got no where.
Finally go to YouTube and then find your video and BAM! That APN worked instantly for me! Thanks a bunch!!!

Switched to the new SIM from my T-Mobile one and I had signal but no internet. Followed step 7 and it fixed INSTANTLY. I have more signal than I did with T-Mobile and it's faster 👍🏾

Thank you sir. I ignored the instructions that came with my new sim card and followed yours instead. I created a new APN and my phone works flawless. Even have a wi fi hotspot now!!

I recently got my free Verizon sim card and when I woke up this morning I got a text saying that I have until the end of the month to upgrade or they'll do it for me. Thanks for the tip I'll have to try and see if it works for me! Wish me luck.

In my case, I get internet service and incoming text and phone calls, BUT I can't make outgoing calls. Every time I do an automated recording comes on "Thank you for calling migration support line. You're not impacted by any network updates at this time...yida yada...goodbye." And then it hangs up. Has anyone run into this issue?

I'm having issues but mine is total by Verizon. Use to be total wireless before the switch. Every since the switch, I can't use my data, but I can make phone calls and text. I've had the phone for over a year now and I have no idea why I'm all of a sudden having issues and Verizon never offered me a new SIM since they took over.

Thank you! I just switched to Straight Talk but wasn't able to use data and I knew it was some setting in my phone, but nothing else I googled was correct to fix it! Tried this and it worked right away. You saved me time from having to call their customer service, and I honestly doubt they even know about this particular solution anyway.

Dude! I've been on the phone with them off and on all day and am still waiting to get a call back. All I had to do was edit the name on the APN to what you have here and shabam. I got datas! Thank you so much.

Oh my gosh I could cry right now!!! Thank you soooo much!!! My phone was doing what your wife's phone was doing and so I made a new apn like you said and it worked immediately and beautifully!! My service has sucked since the switch. I missed the free month of service by not doing it on time. Phone stopped working so switched the sim. But like right now videos won’t load, can’t get on basic games. Many times I can’t even text messages.

My phone finally started working however, I have very little service. My husband and daghter's straighttalk phones were already Verizon and worked almost anywhere. Mine used At&t and I had good service but there were a few places I needed it to work and it didn't so I was excited for the move to Verizon. But I too procrastinated and it took a while to get it working But now everywhere I had service before I no longer have Even in large cities. I can't go to the store down the street and call home. But my husband can and like I said before he also has Straight talk Verizon. I'm about ready to throw it out the window

Can’t even find APN settings on my iPhone 13 promax brand new never been used I bought three different Sims cards from straight talk and the last two months I paid for a plan I haven’t been able to use frustrated aggravated throwing money away just hate everything right now my social media is linked to this number and I’ve been on the phone with over 30 representatives none help they never give me the call back that they say they will the Sims cards that I order online from their website they told me that there’s an error that they don’t work

Thank you!! I googled and tried everything but couldn't get data. I must have spent 8 hours searching the internet for a fix to no avail. I almost returned the phone. Absolutely maddening! Nowhere did anyone ever mention this specific APN fix.
