Hurricane Milton has rapidly strengthened to a category 5 hurricane. Right now its moving over the Gulf of Mexico and is heading right toward Florida.

Wife and daughter in law tried to get me to sell my house and move to Clearwater. As beautiful as it is there, I can't take a chance on the weather over there. Also, I'm hearing that home insurance premiums are outrageous over there. Not sure how true that is. Be safe. 😬

I'm in Oklahoma, we get minutes, maybe half hour notice of tornadoes. Why do they make a big deal of "filling sandbags" and what do sandbags supposedly do? And what happens to bags anyway? Why can't they be saved and reused? Seems like everyone should have a stockpile of filled bags.

Man. I’m a teenager and i I live with my grandpa, sister, and mom, and when I tell you i have the worst family when it comes to hurricanes i mean the worst. We live just north of tampa (not by much Pinellas County) and my grandpa and mom won’t do shit about preparing. They believe it won’t hit badly even after seeing what helene did to our area as 3. Now as 5 they still won’t even board up the windows or get sandbags 🤦🏼‍♀️
