In a twist of irony, Starline finally saw the Dr. Eggman he admired for so long. It only took him standing on the other side of the battlefield.

Let this be a reminder that Eggman's original inspiration, as far back as his robotnik design, was Theodore Roosevelt. A man known for a family lineage of physical prowess and prodigy. A very big, very smart, very STRONG man.

As someone else said, Robotnik has lost to Sonic while wearing power armor or driving mechs. Outside of that though, he's caught Ammy's hammer, tossed Sally so hard she went THROUGH a brick wall, and has beaten several mercenary groups in hand to hand, including Lupe, Whisper, and that whole wolf pack group.

He does lose to Knuckles in brawls, but even then, he's no slouch, and that guy's the biggest power house the good guys have. He is Brains AND Brawn. It's just his opponent is Speed, and can casually violate physics on a whim.

What most people forget is Eggman sees his fights with Sonic as a rivalry; a test of his ability. When someone *genuinely* angers him, Eggman can absolutely obliterate them in seconds.

Dr. Starline learned REAL quick that the only villain with plot armor in this franchise is Eggman.

It's funny, a lot of people attribute Eggman's constant losses to Sonic just giving physics the middle finger on a regular basis.
Eggman is pulling his punches, because like Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and the others, he is constantly getting better through their tussles.
Years of facing down Sonic's speed have likely honed his reflexes to be only a step behind the blue blur himself. Tails constantly pushes him to create better bots and more secure OS's. Amy and Knuckles push him to be physically stronger so he can stop their assaults. and Rouge tests his security systems like no one else can.
Hell, it's likely he sees their little spats as little more than training sessions for both sides. He wants them all at their peak, so that when he wins, it's not because they couldn't give it all they had. It's because they did, and it wasn't enough.
Keep in mind. Sonic and co, are still practically kids.
Rouge is the oldest, at 18, and Cream is the youngest, at 6. Sonic himself is 15, and Tails is 8.
Fast forward 10 years, and imagine how much more powerful they could all be.

You know, mechanics do have a rep for being jacked. And Eggman always was a hands-on mechanic in every comic i’ve seen him in

I kind of love how Eggman can just BODY a typical mobian effortlessly. He's all like "I know I don't have super strength or any particular martial ability, but I AM over 2 feet taller than you and you weigh as much as a small child." He even managed to catch SURGE this way in a later issue, she may have had speed and strength to rival Sonic but all he had to do was catch her off guard for a second so he could grab her by the hair and YEET her out of kicking range.
