Sonic 3, but you are Eggman?!

📖 After the events of Sonic 2, Sonic and Tails arrive on Angel Island that falls into the ocean due to the emergency landing of Death Egg much earlier than Dr. Eggman. Acquainted with Knuckles and after explaining to him what is currently happening, they are decide to defeat Dr. Eggman once and for all. Can Dr. Eggman overcome all the sneaky traps set by Knuckles, slip past the dangerous robots made by Tails, who learned to harness ring energy, and take possession of the Master Emerald necessary to fix the Death Egg?

Eggman 3 Angel Island Revisited is a full game overhaul mod for Sonic 3 A.I.R. in which you play as Dr. Eggman on his quest to steal the Master Emerald.

Eggman plays very differently from Sonic. Unlike the hedgehog, Eggman's gameplay is not speed-focused. To progress through the level, you must take it slow and find items to open new paths along the way.

Boy, this was a ton of fun! I love playing as Robotnik, even though he's not as fast or as easily controlled as Sonic! I love the way he goes belly flopping down hills and the silly look on his face when he does! There's so many things that are different and so entertaining it leaves you begging for more! Except those little blue spikey balls, which are just plain evil! Great job!

About spikes in Sonic 3, there is an enemy kind that pretends to be spikes, then tries to shoot you. Unlike real spikes, the enemy using the spike disguise, does NOT hurt you if you jump onto them. Rather, their fake spikes kinda acts like a spring.

btw, I feel why you like playing as the badguy there, there's something about "forbidden power" that attracts players who want to play as the badguy or having an existing character choose the evil path. Something you can't truly experience in real life without huge concequences for your actions. Within a videogame, real you is not as risk. Plus, some people love to use those evil acts and characters, to blow-off their own steam of frustration, taking it out on characters in a game, to satisfy themselves of taking their anger out on something not real, to not suffer the consequences of their actions irl

To get a special stage in Sonic 3, you have to reach a checkpoint with 20 rings or above to play the "Gumball Machine Stage".
