I obtained my Prayer Rope from a local Russian orthodox parish in Cape Town. It was made by one of the Parishioners.

Im a Catholic, but have a huge devotion and love to the Prayer of the Heart. Despite this beautiful prayer is praised in our Catechism, there are few who take up its riches or who have even heard of it. Such a shame. And its living history that predates the Great Schism, so more so a great reason to learn to pray unceasingly from an Eastern perspective. A great video, thank you kindly!

I have two komboskinis, both handmade by the monks of Mount Athos, so one can imagine how I treasure them. But I treasure them more than one can imagine, and this is because I know how to make Rosaries, both of wire and rope, but I can never get used to the komboskini knot. I wish I could learn it, to be able to make them and give them out to encourage the Jesus Prayer.

I'm Roman Catholic but started using the prayer rope, it's such a easy and deep way to maintain the relationship we have with Jesus Christ, I bought mine in the Orthodox Cathedral of São Paulo.

Hello and may Lord have Mercy on us!
The Lord works in mysterious ways and today the Priest of my Parish gifted me this very morning a beautiful Prayer Rope. It’s design is extremely simple but in its simplicity it’s beauty is stunning. My Priest just came back from Russia and he brought back a few with him. He gave it to me and instantly I felt tears in my eyes. I am now the deeply humbled and honored owner of a 50 knot Black rope hand made by a Russian Orthodox monk who was making ropes to raise money for his Parish.
I know I will probably never meet him in this life, but in glory I will. The durability and quality of the materials are noticeable automatically, and a sense of Godly strength flows through the rope. Mine is wool, and to me when I hold it it’s truly a sense of peace and defiance to all evil.
However after watching your video I may need another for a Christmas gift. My wife might be placing a order soon.
May God in his loving kindness bless you and your family Brother.

Thank you. I am new to Orthodoxy and this is a great video. My aunt gave me a lestovka, and I would love to find more information on how to better pray with it. I would love to see a video on how to make a proper prayer rope.

I want to thank you for making this video. I was going to make a prayer on my own because i saw a video about how to just make one, but now after watching this video i realise the great detail, symbolistic meaning, and uniques that can be put into each rope, especially with the importance of the Jesus prayer. So now I'm most probably going to buy one from an Orthodox Church/parish or someone of the faith like you who really makes these with care in mind. God bless you sir☦️❤

Thank you I was getting tired of searching for prayer ropes online because all I'd get was either amazon or etsy, I want the money to go to a good cause not some corporation.

I’m an Orthodox Christian and I want to make prayer ropes for my church members.
I always had a feeling that it was necessary to pray the Jesus Prayer while tying each knot, which you have confirmed in this video 😊.
Tell me what’s good quality material for making them? I have 3mm nylon ropes

Thanks for the information.
I’m probably going to make my own ropes starting with a 12 knot one.
When I get good enough then I’m gonna steal your 1200 knot design from 2:36

Hi friend ! Your channel and komboskini guru are my two favorites. I am learning to create prayer ropes and want them to be as authentic as possible. Thank you for all these informations and the beauty and the inspiration you give !! You are one of my teachers to this ancient monastic craft ; what a blessing to be able to learn it on YouTube !!!

Awesome video. Today was my first day I had ever owned an authentic prayer rope that was truly made. I can tell that this one is truly made because the material is extremely durable, and the cross is definitely very durable. I am still learning the orthodox faith and it is taking some time, and I have just been introduced today to prayer beads and ropes. I was never given a full detail as to how to use this great prayer tool until your great video came along. One of my friends who is a student still in school, and has had a degree in orthodoxy, has introduced me to the prayer beads, but never really showed me how it was done. she did not give me full instructions on where to place my hands or even how to hold the beads, until your great video came along and really gave me some closure without feeling like I am lost. I am still not sure though, how to place my fingers either on the nuts or the beads as I am praying. This is also very new to me, that I do have a few great questions even to ask my teacher who is going to be with us again on Tuesday as she is doing in Inquirer’s class. she started it last week but I had missed my first week due to a problem in the apartment which is now under control. God bless you and thank you so much for your great videos. I don’t have a prayer corner in my apartment as of yet as I do need to get rid of a few things to make space for it and clean the apartment out, but this will come in due time as I grow in the faith. God bless you again and may you have a great day and again thanks for the video.
