*Humpback whales can certainly be considered the pop stars of the ocean. Their captivating songs, acrobatic displays, and undeniable charisma make them stand out among marine creatures. Just like pop stars, they captivate our attention and inspire awe with their magnificent performances.*

I like the idea of advising ships to slow down when whales are confirmed in the area. To couple that technology with a Warning System to alert sea life that danger is approaching would be beneficial; a warning system sea life would understand.

Can Archival and hydrophones really make a difference is protecting these precious species
I mean will the mariners take the warnings seriously?
Yes, perhaps due to the fear of the damages to the ships only

This gives me a way to draw comparisons between whales and humans with regards to noise and being hit by a boat in the same way humans are in a noisy city and being hit by a car.

As humans, we are able to learn to navigate a busy streets by staying alert to fast moving traffic, I wonder how whales can be struck by fast moving ships if they are alert to boat traffic.

I can imagine that this makes problems in an order of magnitude more severe for cetaceans who are more or less surrounded by noises coming from all directions in an ever-increasing bubble of propagation because we as humans only have sound in the air to consider rather than feeling it in our chests (like sitting in a car with those booming stereos that make your hair flow out of the windows) but would that increase our difficulty in concentrating on where moving cars are and prevent us from crossing busy intersections?

Has anyone else ever had thoughts along these lines? I'm very interested to hear from you if you have.

I think that it's critical to understand why full-grown whales are still unable to avoid a ship when it has hundreds of feet of water to drop below the traffic (example: humans can't walk under the street or float over it to avoid it unless the city has constructed something)

I believe that if more people are able to make this distinction between humans and cetaceans, we could be that much closer to finding workable solutions.
