I was coming here to say there's no way that that Harpoon tip was 150 years old because thread bolts weren't invented yet but then I decided to do a little research before posting and apparently thread bolts have been invented as far back as 400 BCE. That's pretty amazing

Fun fact: Greenland sharks live 400 damn years and have antifreeze in their veins which is why you’ll die if you eat them without proper fermentation.

Whalers have found whales with stone spearheads in them. People haven't used stone for a long time.

“Why do they live so long, well for starters, they live in the no food place and get no food” is a pretty damn funny start lol

Amazing creatures!! I'm so glad that, FINALLY, most developed nations are banding together to protect these magnificent beasts and all their remarkable cetacean cousins!
Here's to a world where ALL cetaceans can live in safety and freedom from humans!

This could mean there’s some whales out there who still remember when we used to hunt the f*ck out of them in the 19th century 😂

Actually there is a jellyfish that can live forever. It just goes back and forth from a baby to an adult. And if nothing gets in its way it will live for ever. It is called the immortal jellyfish. great video!

I heard that whales don't usually die from the effects of old age, but rather get too weak to swim to the surface for air and drown or killed by predators. I wonder how long they could last if those weren't factors.
