The job of a ghost is to go out and resurrect a human or other species.. To become a lightbearer. We were found in the Russian Cosmodrome, others on the moon, dreaming city or even old Chicago. Have you ever wondered who is the oldest guardian to exist though? Can a ghost resurrect a human from over 10.000 years ago? Today we answer that very question.

“Destiny 2 Lore”
“Destiny 2 Light and Dark”
“Destiny 2 Guardians”
“Destiny 2 Sen-Aret”

Thanks for watching!

I wonder if this means Shax could actually be from the dark ages. It would be funny if they reveal he’s Beowulf. It would fit with his personality and his history.

As the old saying goes: Paracausal problems require prehistoric solutions

To ressurect a lightbearer, only the DNA is needed - this is confirmed in the "Luna's Lost" lorebook, as one of the Ghosts, that died on the surface of the Moon stated that the DNA strands of the Golden Age technicians is too corrupt and changed to be of any use.

I like that Sen Aret picked up the term straightedge from talking to modern guardians 😂
It's also very interesting that Destiny's story seems to be treating morally good Darkness wielders as well as people who want nothing to do with it as equally valid allies despite disagreements.

So if a ghost can resurrect some one that old what if a ghost resurrected an actual paladin from medieval times, or a spartan. It would give Titan a whole new meaning

San-aret(?) not being offered a spot near the campfire to hangout with fellow Guardians made me really sad.

I always liked to imagine that some Guardians like Osiris for example could have been resurrected from one of the ancient bodies of an Egyptian Pharaoh.

Something that I find really interesting about this, is that gives us a better idea of the timeline of Destiny. Assuming the Grave site mentioned is Jebel Sahaba, that means that the current year in Destiny would be somewhere near the 41st century

Wow this is so interesting. Never expected to find something like this in the lore, but I guess Bungie does think of everything.

Well EXO‘s are an interesting caveat in all of this, so you don’t even need DNA to be resurrected unless there is some type of DNA material in the hybridized vex goo brain that would be considered an Exo

Makes you wonder what being “worthy” to be selected by a ghost actually means.

Is there some other component that has not been revealed to any of us in the lore? It makes me think inherently a soul or some type of energy for every living sentient being does exist in this universe.

Even going to the insane magic of the hive of dying and returning to become stronger, the sword logic, souls or energy being used to entrap beings into weapons

This is one of many reasons I love destiny

If Qadan lacks skill with firearms, then perhaps she would be a natural with swords, glaives, and bows. I would imagine that she might be a hunter because they deal in knives, bows, and staffs, all of which are very old weapons.

Omg the old guardian is so great and ultimately they asked ikora to make the other let them sit with them XD

That's actually really cool! Imagine a Ghost finding an old museum and resurrects a Neanderthal. They could bring a dead race back from extinction.

it would be cool to see famous real life figures reborn as guardians. like imagine like theodore roosevelt or somebody being revived into a guardian that would be hilarious and interesting to see in game

I believe the reason ghost can resurrect a completely disintegrated guardian after the first resurrection is because the guardian has the guardians biological make up saved somehow, and knows how to reproduce the guardian from nothing.

This is lowkey one of the best videos you ever made. It's cool to think that a human that old could be walking among us and we even dare to think the possibility to have someone that old. Wouldn't be cool if Bungie makes this character a real one and we could interact with it? I mean, the Traveller acts with purpose and I don't believe it would do this if she (was a female right?) Hasn't some hidden knowledge to share (or to help to find). Bungie is messing with timelines and time travel since D1. So maybe the Witness or Vex...or even another race or entity could have visited us in the past to study, recruit or whatever.
