How to make Lead fishing weights (Egg style and Bank style)

In this video i show you how to make your own lead fishing weights using molds and melting pots. If you have some old lead that's just been sitting around the backyard and you fish a lot you could benefit from making your own weights vs buying them from a store. Its super simple and with just a small initial investment for a melting pot and a mold or two you could save a lot of money over the long haul. If you want to save some time filing (to smooth the remains of the molding sprue), grind down the outside jaws of an old pair of side-cutters to create a quick & easy flush cut. 😉

You have to leave your molds sit on top of the lead pots while you're heating up the lead so they heat up too. You can also heat them up with a propane torch but not enough to burn the wood.
