Making Lead Fishing Weights

A video outlining how i make lead fishing weights. In the video i use a Do-It mould to make 6oz & 8oz swivel bombs and a standard mould to make 3, 4 & 5oz Aquapedo weights. Select HD from the settings tab!

Health & Safety: Lead fumes are toxic. Make sure you wear a particulate face mask when making weights, work in a well ventilated space and take regular fresh air breaks. Molten lead is extremely hot and will cause burns. Make sure you wear heatproof gloves when handling hot material. Make sure your lead is dry before adding to the melting pot - if liquid water comes into contact with molten lead it will cause the lead to spit and explode out of the pot. Wear an apron/thick jacket and eye googles if your in doubt.

Just found this video. I have tried to melt lead to make weights but I do not seem to be able to get it hot enough yet you video shows a very gentle flame. Therefore am I using the wrong metal pot, so besides cast iron what is the best type of pan to use ?

dont handle lead with bare hands dude be careful with that stuff, great video!
