Nintendo just made a HUGE mistake. After the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, the pricing for both the console and Mario Kart World was revealed, and it's TERRIBLE! Let's talk about this!

When I mention how the Switch 2 physical games are just "licenses" and your console still has to download the games, that only applies to some games (likely games that can't fit on a cartridge)

I would like to clarify that the overview for the 'Game-Key Cards' does make a distinction between 'Game-Key Cards' and 'regular physical software' meaning that most game cards will store all the data on the card. The only games requiring a 'Game-Key Card' would be the bigger games that cannot be stored on it e.g. Cyberpunk or FF7R. Of course this does not change the fact that these prices for games and 'upgrade packs' are incredibly unreasonable

GTA 6 is about to be $100+ with this trend. $450 isn’t too bad for Switch 2. Especially with all of the specs. BUT. FUCK. MARIO KART WORLD BEING THAT EXPENSIVE IS ABSURD. they’re just seeing what they could get away with. they will making a killing off of this game regardless. physical media is now truly dead.

Something else to consider is not only are the prices blocking out normal average gamers, but it's going to 100% effect the average family and children. I can't see any rational parent buying a single $90 video game for their kid, who will most likely want more $90 video games as they come out. It's anti every single consumer possible
