While I thought $449 was quite high for a Switch 2, I was willing to accept that so long as the games were $50-$60. Asking for that and $90 games is horrendous.

The success will depend on the new software and how well older switch games will run on the Switch 2. If they make the older switch games perform better on the switch 2 without needing to purchase upgraded versions then it'll be a big win.

It will be like DS to 3DS. It will still sell well but probably not better, hopefully without a bad launch. Basically every part of the design so far is avoiding another potential Wii U

Also commercial failure ≠ bad consoles. The GameCube was arguably Nintendo’s best console to this day, all of the first party games hold up in graphics and gameplay and are frankly timeless.

Here's my issue: beyond graphics, what does it offer that the standard Switch doesn't?
Nintendo has always had this with gimmick consoles to appeal to the casual market. So my worry is that if the Switch 2 doesn't do anything different to the original Switch, the casual audiences - i.e. families - won't be inclined to purchase it.
