It was just announced that the price of the Nintendo Switch 2 will be $449 with a $499 Mario Kart World bundle, probably $50 than most people expected, and $150 more than the original Switch eight years ago. Sure, inflation, but now Nintendo may have gone too far, even for devoted fans.

The ONLY game I would consider paying these kind of prices for is GTA 6, because I know I’m paying for 10+ years of quality development and detail. Rockstar is one of the few remaining companies that consistently delivers excellence, and for that they have earned my trust. Otherwise, I’m good with waiting until these other games go on sale

I was expecting a $400 console price and $70 games, and that would’ve already been a decent price hike for Nintendo, but wouldn’t have felt so out of line. $450 console price is a bit much, but the lineup of games looked good so I excused it a little bit. However $80 for a brand new game that won’t ever go on sale is absolutely insane smh. $90 if you want a pseudo physical edition. Then price hiking the new gen upgrade for switch games in addition is just the cherry on top. Peak greed.

I just recently bought a PS5 for a video game that I bought that was $75. Why is Nintendo thinking that I’m gonna buy more likely weaker console that has video games $80-$90? Especially when the digital download is 80 and the physical code for the digital download is 90? This is gonna fail more than their Wii2
