When a service provider fails to provide a service, a full refund should be the _bare minimum_ acceptable outcome.

Transportation and utilities need to become government regulated. Corporate greed needs to be stopped, it is literally becoming a humanitarian crisis at this point.

God i hate America, how it does its best to make sensible solutions seem like asking for too much.

ITS YOUR MONEY, THEY FUCKED UP YOUR FLIGHT, OF COURSE YOU MUST RECEIVE A REFUND

This what consumer protection looks like. If I buy a ticket to Deadpool and they don’t let me see Deadpool sounds like I was robbed?

It’s crazy that we’re excited about this… You don’t get what you paid for, you get your money back. That’s exactly the way it works for nearly everything else in the world. The airlines have had it easy for far too long.

My flight was canceled after being delayed 3 times, the last delay pushed it to within 50 minutes under the cancelation refund window but it still ended up canceled.

They tried to get us to automatically rebook by binding a website that looks like you're going to maybe look at new tickets and seats but if you even try to look at picking a flight it will just automatically book the tickets.

They're trying to get people to rebook and just give up rather than take refunds. However, if you go back to them after accidentally booking, you can absolutely still get a full cash refund (in case you no longer want to go or want to book another airline, etc).

Most people would rather get to their planned destination. Getting a refund and completely rescheduling isn't always going to work out.

I think they are, and always have been entitled to compensation... but the thing from April made it so it's supposed to be automatic and hassel-free... but i heard like late late 2024 was the expected implementation

You need to go online and get that BEFORE you leave the Airport, Srict rules to follow.

Please get rid of the bots if you are able, they are rampant all over this website.

Informative video though, the airline industry is hella consolidated.

Yes. But I still need to get somewhere. I get refunded my flight, then have to figure out a last minute rental car or last minute flight. Last time this happened to me: option A) $200 Spirit flight refund, or 13 h driving at $230/day while waiting for refund; option B) Spirit flight refund $200 and figuring out my own accomodations for a night ~$300 for last minute and paying for a new flight for another airline $300; option C) take Spirit flight and drive a rental for 5 h for $200 paid by me. Honestly this is probably for the best for me, because it'll make me cut back on traveling and pollute the earth less. There's no redemption for an airline when you are stranded in a country that's the size of a continent.

Being a regular frequent flyer, the best route to take by experience is request to be compensated in airline points. Points never expire and airlines generously overcompensate when it comes to points.

you still must find another airline...

what about the 30 wheelchairs that are lost or damaged every single day? Do people get compensation for that, these things are expensive!!

The only people getting any justice are the ones who can afford to be consumers.

I used to have to fly about once a month and I cannot tell you how helpful this would’ve been. It got to the point where it wasn’t even surprising if my flights were delayed by 3+ hours and I was only ever compensated one time.
