I'm in the US, but couldn't get through to American after my flight two days away was cancelled, so I called the UK customer service and everything was resolved within 15 minutes.

Last month, I took a vacation in the Netherlands. On my return, I showed up at Schipol, looked up at the flight board, and it said my 10:40 Delta to MSP was cancelled. My immediate thought was 'what the hell am I supposed to do now?' But once I got my head together, I made my way to the KLM help center and they boarded me on one of their planes. No harm.

So nothing came from this new rule. The whole purpose was to help with delays which is about 75% of the time, and cancellations. Some of these delays are back to back…next thing you know it’s 3 hrs later. This is what we are having issues with.

Hawaii Airlines canceled my flight the day before departure from Tokyo to US, I contacted their customer service (very hard to get a live agent) trying to get them put on another flight back to US, but they claim their system can’t find a flight, they claimed the only thing they could do is refund. I had to pay very high price to purchase a ticket from another airline to get to US. Hawaii Airlines representative told me they have the right to cancel flights and did not provide any compensate on my extra cost of newly booked flight, hotel etc. I had similar situations with United Airlines, Air Canada and representatives were very helpful and arranged us on other flights. I will definitely avoid Hawaii Airlines in future, they have the worst customer service I have had.

I had a flight from Toronto-Australia.

Flight path was Toronto-Dallas-New zealand-Australia

My flight left Toronto 2:45mins late, which made me miss all my flights after.

When I got into Dallas, I was dealing with customer service. There were no other flights going to Australia that day, so they booked me on the NEXT DAY EVENING FLIGHT.

I got a voucher for only 1 night hotel which means I have to leave the room by 10am but my flight was in the evening.

I went there for that flight, again when I got there, the booking didn’t go through and so the only flight after that was again, next day evening flight.

Again I got a hotel.

They screwed up my booking and messed it up but I did end up at my destination. But my entire booking was changed.

My bag was stuck in Dallas after I landed 2 days late. I got my bag 3 days after I landed.

It’s been a month since the incident and I have been dealing with them for the past month. What are some tips to get a faster response.

Was delayed 24 hours, purchased AIG insurance when I purchased tickets. Denied refund, stated delays are not covered, well I want my insurance money back. Why offer insurance that does not cover delays. We lost 500 due to this delay, plus 100 insurance cost. Is there anything we can do?

Do you have to pay extra? I think no but money is screwed if you don’t have an assurance?
