The thing people have to remember is that cover crops are a long term play, terminating early, strip till, will almost always beat planting straight into it in the short term. However over the long haul if you keep at it your soils will become healthier, I’ve heard it takes at least 3 years to start noticing a difference. You may notice some weed control right away, the first year I planted green I eliminated all pre emergence herbicides and had excellent weed control.

We run a vertical roll through it with blades set straight. Or a salford works good. Doesn’t disturb it much but gives it good time to warm up

This was used in the 50's, people think this is something new.
