It’s a good trade if you know basketball. The Knicks are weak at center. Losing Hartenstein and the injury prone Robinson. No one guards Robinson. Embid and Porzingis have to play defense and Towns opens the floor for OG, Bridges and off course Brunsons. Let’s Go!

To trade that much offense don't make no kind of sense to me!

This is not really a good trade. Losing Divencenzo and a first round pick is gonna hurt a bit.

Don't like KAT! He's not better than Randall!!!

It was to be expected. The Knicks don’t need to be paying big bucks for 3 starting Forwards in Randle, OG and Bridges. One of them had to go. OG just signed a new deal and Bridges cost the Knicks a lot of picks. They’re not moving. It was only one obvious choice and the Knicks needed a Center. When Mitch Robinson returns… that will be one hell of a formidable team of Mitch at Center, Towns at PF, OG at SF, Bridges at SG and Brunson at PG. Thats a great balance on both offense and defense.

Is that a good trade? I don’t know. They should have let Randle and Donte for this year and if it doesn’t work out, you trade them.

Wow is right Marshall! We instantly lost a ton of team chemistry. Sorry Knicks fans that wanted to compete this year…

SAD DAY.

It truly felt like something special was brewing for the first time in my life; one which already has actually been fortunate enough to witness 2 Knicks finals appearances; but yet they weren't it, this was different, & it was really happening for the NYK!

Chemistry, a sense of loyalty, family, love, strength, humility, Class, work ethic, Will, GRIT, & NEW YORK. The Knicks had given a face and name to the very essence of the combination of these things. NOVA-KNICKS, & next man up; A Whole which was greater than the sum of its parts. That's what our Knicks had come to represent in just over 2 quick seasons.

Then... they go for a big swing, reminiscent of the Knicks of old, which gutted a team for Melo, only to make 1 meaningful playoff run in his Knicks career on a team which would prove shattered by lack of depth, trade assets, and financial flexibility (sound familiar). This time its worse, It kinda feels like tossing away your dog for a new girlfriend you hardly know, right after a bad breakup.

The Knicks absolutely gave away too much in the trade. With Dvo, the flexibility he created was critical both on a nightly basis, and in the event of injury. Analysts are off base when they say there's only 15mins a game for him...he would have easily hit 25-28mins as a backup to 3 positions, clutch shooter & closer.

The Knicks were in a position where they only needed a C, & they had depth at every other position with star level players. Had the Knicks waited until the trade deadline, they could have traded for someone serviceable to fill the void using deuce and the pick, buyout market, FA's, etc.

So if the problem in all this was Randle and his expiring contract, Knicks should have drew a hard line and made the trade exclusively around Mitch & Randle for KAT. We have to address the elephant in the room which I don't think I've heard much of, and that is the fact that MIN was nearly about to collapse with its own financial woes, and that's actually a well documented fact, so getting off the lux tax at the 2nd apron and maintaining a competitive team with flexibility was to be an enormously difficult task for them, thus making it incredibly foolish to walk away from any such trade which might allow that happen. So Even though MIN has no place for mitch, he'd still be highly valuable to them as an expiring contract @ 2 yrs, or otherwise as a trade chip.

If MIN said no to that trade, then Knicks roll with what they have, and revisit options later, simple as that.

Knicks now lack depth on the bench and @ PF, not to mention how tough it will be if anyone gets injured, with no assets left to work well around it.

KAT is a great player, this trade however, was not great. Knicks blew this one.

I hope the Knicks come out the better for all this, but tbh my heart is just not in it the same anymore. Special rarely happens, and the Knicks took it for granted b4 even letting it try to blossom. Sad.
