Who ever came up with the idea of subscription and micro transactions for the Sims. Should be fired.

They should be strengthening what worked from previous games, making it better, and adding on to it. They already have a blueprint of things that should and should not be in the game from the previous instalments.

Personally, I’m not really excited for Project Rene. I’m scared lol

They really are making every meme of "wipe your ass for $49.99!" more and more literal. You'd think they'd learn their lesson with how people gave backlash with Sims 4 being what it was before they backtracked and used the awful code. Sims 4 is awful, I'm not gonna beat around the bush, it was doomed to be a buggy awful game without mods to fix it because of the backtracking at the last minute. But nope, people continuing to pay stupid prices for a few pieces of clothing or barely any furniture made them more comfortable. Life sims don't need any damn microtransactions, the mobile games suck for a reason.

I saw this coming from a mile away. I knew that when they introduced kits they were likely doing it to get players used to the idea of spending money for a small quantity of things. This will be the death of the franchise lol

I can’t believe that they almost had the Sims four fail for trying to make it online and they haven’t learned a lesson

Microtransactions are the #1 thing I absolutely despise in games, so if TS5 is really like this then I'm not going anywhere near it, I'll be sticking with 3 and 4, and having a look at games like Life By You and Paralives.

I'm really hoping that it's not going to be like this

I have said this from the beginning, as long as Grant Rodiek is the lead producer and game director the sims will fail. He was a big reason for sims 4 failing before he bailed to go to Sims 5 production. He literally got banned from twitter (by banned I mean the higher ups at EA told him to literally stop tweeting) for saying really horrible things to is probably one of the worst employees the sims has and the fact he is so high up now is a really bad sign. If you look into the things he has done and said you will see why. He constantly used to talk about making things he wants as a lead producer and not what fans

I am absolutely not interested in a Second Life version of the Sims cause I play the Sims to escape other people lol. Also I really hate free to play games. They make the game INSUFFERABLE in a lot of ways to get you to spend real life money and speed things up. Gem systems, time gating, fomo, etc etc. No thanks!

The free to play is very intentional. This is why they have been turning this game super PG for younger players. Players that don't have the history with the Sims. They won't understand all the things that they will be paying for used to come with the game. It won't matter what long time player say or how we feel. EA is geared to make as much money as possible. And there are most of us simmers that buy content no matter how badly developed it is. And we have proven this repeatedly to EA.

Oh god, not sims and microtransactions. I guess I'm not playing it then. Period. Do they understand that Project Renee is competing with the previous The Sims games? I could just play, Sims 2, Sims 3 or Sims 4 and just forget about the Project Cashgrab 😂

I'm so worried with how often they're mentioning the ability to play on phones. One of the many problems I had with TS4 is that they majorly downgraded the capabilities of the game so it could run on potatoes, and it sounds like they're moving even further in that direction.

If I want to play IMVU or Second Life, I will get on those sites, I play the Sims to play the Sims. Sims players are different from other players, each in their own unique way, and if we change things to be like IMVU or Second Life then it would take away a lot of the freedom the Sims players have. That said, we get depended on packs and mods for the game to be playable. Micro transactions will kill the game--like it did Sims 3.

While other players were saying they're tired with The Sims 4 and want to move on, I was like - naah, I don't want The Sims 5, I'll stick to TS4. And now I'm even more confident about it 😂

Agreed... they are going to ruin it! Hoping paralives and LBY step up. Simmers have been ok with paying for the game and some kits/packs. This mobile gaming microtransactions and or subscription is going to work. They never listen to us about anything. I hate the play on both sims mobile... it limits how I can play. Ugh!
