To me a beginner is just someone who hasn't used one yet.
I used a Monoprice select mini III ever since it came out until about 3 months ago and it died unceremoniously. I am not actually awaiting the shipping of my K1C. Ever since the other printer died I have been researching and watching many videos on different machines and slicer settings and materials. This is going to be a huge step up for me.

Absolute beginner is the guy that is overwhelmed by the choices. Do I get the Bambu P2S, the Creality K1C, or the Ender 3 v3 SE? I want something easy but something I am not going to want to throw away six months from now.

To me an absolute beginner is someone who has been wanting to get a PC and 3D printer and doesn’t even know how to use them or what the best ones are.

Its nice to see these videos with an actual human. The amount of "best printers" videos that are just bot voices and affiliate links makes it hard to lean anything.

Absolute beginner in 3d Printing? Someone with a creative and curious mind, likes art and create things from the thin air.

Having the printer can be the gateway to learning those things that the gatekeeper mindset issues as edicts to entry. Downloading things that others have posted leads to "I like this but wish it was different this way" or "nobody has this thing that I'd like to print the way I need it" then leads to learning modeling software to make the thing the way they want it. I feel like a lot of gatekeepy ridiculousness can become an accomplishment when you take a run at it from the opposite direction instead of getting speedbumped by some "expert" and abandoning an interest.

Your mindset is so refreshing. I don't know much about computers or any tech but am interested in making cool things. Thank you for the video!

Used a 3d pen a few years ago only had a laptop running windows 8, got an anycubic Kobra 2 neo and a photon mono 2, I now running windows 10 new to slicer software, 3d printers, starting to learn cad, ex mechanic, familiar with putting a tower together in the early 2000s only really used my laptop for my GM diagnostics and music production .

Printed a 3d model in a library once, have held several 3d prints, but initially I didn't know what to do with it. Looked a bit gimmicky to me and I didn't see a lot of potential for my own use. Now I am getting curious as I am looking more into tinkering with Flipper Zero extensions (WiFi card etc.) and LoRa devices where the only cases for those things are 3D prints. None of it seems commercially available except from "creator stores" and most of them shipping from overseas, incurring import duties and high shipping costs.

There are no small scale (conusmer level) shops in the vicinity that accept 3D printing jobs and the libraries stopped offering this service, so now I am looking at maybe getting into this myself...

As a beginner, I want a 3d printer that I don't have to mess around with internal settings. I wanna be able to design my own stuff. The slicer is easy to use and I ends up giving me nice prints without worrying that I have spent £500 on something I will have problems with later down the line. And not have people arguing which company is best.

Think you need the FlashForge 5M to your list. At $260 it just works right out of the box. Has Kipper firmware too.

I recently got a Wuxn WXR. Its been great and reliable. Out of the box plug and play. No assembly required. I think that is a great thing for a beginner who just wants to print things and may or may not be a hands on type of person

Im currently watching so many reviews of printers because i want to get startet in 3d printing and don't want to regret my choice in a few months. I also would love to have some flexibility in filaments and im torn between the creality k1c and the bambu labs p1s. They are not that cheap but i want a properly working printer without having to spent hundrets of hours and x amount of filament till the prints come out somewhat clean. I also looked at used ones but most are open and an enclosure is something nice to have especially with pets 😅

My dad has been after me for years to get a 3D printer, but my PC at home was windows 7 and old. Steam end of lifed windows 7 so I bought a new NZXT with w11 after getting into NAS with raspis. I watched a 3D printing video and knew I could do that. I bought a used Voxelab Aquila S3 and only had it a couple days before I decided on the X1C w AMS, man do I love this thing. Technically I haven’t paid the 3D printing dues. If you just want your prints to work, get a Bambu, if you like to tinker get something else.

I've never 3d printed before but as a sysadmin I'm pretty tech savvy. Still, I want to print, not play around, and I've got the monies so I bought a Bambu X1C. It's not that expensive, compared to the other hobby which I intend to print custom parts for.

Easy, A1 with AMS, just wait for it. Mini is great, but you'll outgrow it too fast. March is coming soon. Absolute beginner is someone who saw a 3D printer at a friends house and was fascinated. I've seen my wife go from newb to competent in a few weeks who was turned on to it by seeing me do it, and by the level of polish that the Bambu A1 offers. Somehow, she's now running her A1 and my A1 both in her craft room, leaving me with an empty space in my office.

I want to help my wife with her items that may need for pre-k (nothing complex) but also I want to use it for me, for making some ideas that would help me within the house.

How to define a beginner Mmmm i have been 3D printing for about 3 years. I bought into the Creality ender V1 and still use it today. I guess a beginner is likely not to have some or all of the following skills:
Able to level the bed manually
Able to produce a test print to check performance and recognise what the people(s) is/are.
Able to do 3D CAd design for own models
Has a purpose for buying the thing in the first place.
Has limited or no experience of different filaments and their properties
Has a partner who sees no point in the "new toy" at all, (until they print something that repairs something at zero cost.)

Lol, I am just a little bit older, but my son's toybox has me hooked, haha. God bless!

It is me, my interest is growing but never seen or used one. That is a beginner
