When facilitating a root cause problem solving effort, you can use this 6-step approach to guide your team for a higher chance of success. This video focusses more on the facilitating and the process, not so much on the analysis tools themselves (go check other videos for that).

Would you like me to explain one of the mentioned problem solving techniques in more detail? Please write a comment - it motivates me to make more content and you'll benefit from a next useful video.

01:01 - step 1: forming a cross-functional team
03:17 - step 2: problem definition
04:52 - step 3: contain the current problem
05:51 - step 4: root cause analysis
09:34 - step 5: implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
11:13 - step 6: sustain and embed the solutions

Hi Tom,

I sometimes hear friends and family talking about ineffective processes on their work. I then explain how our continuous improvement program works in our factories. People are genuinely interested, but it’s hard to explain how to start a CI program from scratch. What part of a CI process is started first?

Maybe it is a good idea to make a kind of tutorial/ series how to start with a continuous improvement program when there nothing in place yet.

Just an idea 😉
