I’m a student at UGA. Chem dept is a beast. You’ve taught me in a couple videos what I couldn’t understand in a semester

Two quick points.
1. Arrhenius developed his definition prior to Bronsted-Lowry, who made a more generalized definition to capture all Arrhenius acids. Not the other way around.
2. Kw is not a rate, but rather an equilibrium constant based on the law of mass action. It is based on concentrations at equilibrium. And since it is such a small number that means the reaction does not proceed very far forward. And neutral pH of 7 is based precisely on the -log of the concentration of hydronium ions in water from auto-ionization at equilibrium at 25 degrees C.
Great videos though! Love to watch!

Coming up in 2022 the nursing TEAS test is going to have more chemistry questions, as if we don’t have enough, and was wondering if you could go over some more chemistry. Your videos are superb.

Thank you for sharing your work and knowledge. I came to you to understand bodily function as it relates to heavy metal poisoning: I am on supplements and chelating; an ongoing in-vivo chemistry experiment. I have seen some of your adrenal and neuro vids and decided to go back to the very basics Doc Tschan taught me 50 years ago in 11th and 12th grade chemistry, and to work my way forward back up to the organic chemistry I took as an Ag engineering student at U of A. The speed with which your mind can relate one concept to another is something this mercury addled brain lacks, and I appreciate that some of it comes from years of balancing equations and working out the stoichiometry. For those of us who dont have that repetition it might be helpful for you to suggest a companion chemistry text or curriculum that affords the opportunity to run and do sample problems so we can become "fluent" in all these relationships. I am off now to explore what you might have on histamines and histamine response.
