Strangely, I needed to hear this. I survived the ultimate nightmare. I have a child with a diagnosed psychopath. It was only by luck I beated him at his own game and he left us alone. But he found another victim and committed an unthinkable act and is now facing a life sentence in prison 😑 EVERYONE was shocked cause he was a "nice guy" 🙄
I got sick of blaming myself for falling for his lies. Today, I accept that I survived an ugly reality but still I trudge on 🤷‍♀️

I used to blame myself when I was in my 20’s, I really beat the sht outta myself for believing the false promises & all the bs… but Therapy & time has taught me SO much, I don’t believe the bs anymore & I definitely don’t blame myself if things pop off.

I’ve been called “cold” and “surface” for many years. It’s not that I’m any of those things, it’s that I know the more information you give someone the more they have to use against you. I’ve made those mistakes before and they’ve backfired, so if that means I’m surface than so be it.

As an empath type I admire your strength. Empathy can be over rated if a person doesn't know what to do with the overwhelming amount of "feelings" we have coming in at all angles sometimes. It blinds us and I've made some RELE stupid decisions in the name of "love"🤢

Man, that make yourself boring bit...it hits hard. That's exactly what I've had to do. I make myself seem boring. My ex still contacts me from time to time. We've been split up for 4years now. As long as I continue to make him think I'm dull...he keeps moving along.

I blame myself for getting that person's attention. You have no idea how much I regret it. This person has NPD and, BPD. It's made me so aware of NPD especially. I didn't realize as a kid growing up that I dealt with someone with it. I couldn't do anything then but, it won't happen again. It maybe extreme but, that's it for me. I'm done. No relationships ever.
