Our mission is to encourage, empower, and inspire people to live a life that Blesses God, in accordance with His word. As the Psalmist proclaims, "Bless God in the great congregation, the Lord, O you who are of Israel's fountain" (Psalm 68:26 ESV), and "Every day will I bless Thee; and I will praise Thy name forever and ever" (Psalm 145:2 KJV). Just as Simeon, after encountering Jesus, "took him up in his arms and blessed God" (Luke 2:28 ESV), we seek to lead others in a life of stewardship, relevant engagement, and practical living that honors and blesses the Lord.

I followed Bart Erman on YouTube a few months ago when I was really wanting to challenge and see the arguments against my beliefs and the arguments for. And of course, every single time that I went over his content, I could always find a stronger argument to refute what he claimed. But anyways, there was one night, I was up till three in the morning and I went on my YouTube subscriptions just to watch a YouTube video and out of nowhere, he started posting like 3-4 clips of a satire of the crucifixion, and it was just basically a giant comedy. And I could just tell based on those posts that it was just coming from a place of deep, utter hatred and. animosity. So I wanna simply say I 100% believe he knows the truth of God, but he doesn't want to accept it and he'll do anything to go against it. I know that's kind of shocking for people to think of, like how can someone know the truth that God is real and still reject them. But yeah, that's what I really think is happening in this case. But that's just my opinion. He can be cordial but I wouldn't say he's the most objective unbiased person when it comes to the arguments. I would like to pose the argument for the authority of the Book of Daniel, for example, and see his reaction of that, because the arguments for and against that are so great that they pretty much nullify eachother.

This one's so easy to reconcile. The key is different audiences. If my wife asks me how my video game is going, she's going to get a true but completely different answer from the one I'd give to my brother who would be more interested in specific details.

Simple answer: peace those stories in the most logical order and then you‘ll get the best possible account of this story.

Everyone should watch the Jimmy Akin BART Ehrman debate on this. Akin answers with incredible brevity, ingenuity, and wit.

This was my first thought, I've had Muslims challenge me on the same, missing details supposedly to them =s contradiction, that's not how contradictions work 😂

That's true about silents of an event is denial of it. When you have many witnesses of one event each person are going to focus on parts that affected them the most.

You could do a video daily responding to what Bart says and never run out of content. And I would watch every single one.

Silence of an event is not denial of an event 💯

Jesus himself brought up a "contradiction" in the Scriptures. Basically he asks "How can the Messiah be the son of David, when David himself calls him lord?"

So this is a "contradiction". You can't be the son of David and the lord of David. In fact, no one could answer him.

The answer to the question of course is that Jesus according to the flesh is David's son, but according to the spirit (in the resurrection) he is the Lord of David. Hence Psalm 110 is a resurrection Psalm.

People like Bart are illogical to begin with, since they pretty much never allow for such nuances.

The fact that he has to strain so hard to find a contradiction and this is the best he came up with should really tell him something about how supernatural the Bible is. Compare it to the Quran, so many contradictions they had to come up with the "contradictions are OK" doctrine of abrogation.

There's no reason to listen to anything Ehrman has to say. He has been aggressively repudiated by both religious and non-religious scholars and subject-matter experts multiple times over, to the extent that any time someone cites him you can be sure that they're not interested in the actual scholarship. He's also a tremendously dishonest debater, expecting opponents to concede a nebulous blanket claim as factual when he misrepresents basic context and straight-up ignores textual information that does not support his narrow, and often a-historical and a-cultural reading.

The only good thing about Ehrman is that I've found so many incredible apologists as a result of people absolutely clowning on him.

The ability for God to forgive is so mind blowing bc there are literally so many people like this that are actively trying to lead people on this path

First off, I should say that I like Bart and have benefitted from his scholarship, even though I disagree with many of his conclusions.

Lydia McGrew makes a valid point on this topic. Too often, we leave out the possibility that an author simply didn't know about an event. Good faith errors or differences don't really sway the reliability of the Gospels/Acts, especially when you consider the strength of the positive case that the authors were close up to the events and knew what they were talking about.

If Luke is relying on eyewitnesses, it's not unthinkable that he just wasn't told a detail of a story. It seems a bit hasty to jump to the conclusion that Matthew is therefore making up a trip to Egypt. Textbook argument from silence. It's unrealistic expectations, faulty assumptions and logical jumps that should make us question what we're told by some NT scholars and do a bit of our own research.

John 21:25 CSB
And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which, if every one of them were written down, I suppose not even the world itself could contain the books that would be written.

A lot happened that was not written down. It would be impractical and inaccessible for your average person if every detail was accounted for in scripture.

Mindshift, BART, Hitchens all do this. And they all come off as more angry with God versus unbelieving. This I find sad.

Luke literally begins talking about the other accounts written about Jesus, I believe Matthew was written first. So you can’t expect the same information to be repeated, what’s the point? Plus they were written to different audiences. Bart Ehrman knows this I’m sure but he needs to keep coming up with contradictions to remain relevant and sell books.
