I like how you are basically saying you are down bad

I'd say less "down bad" and more "desperate for human connection" Like the core theme of the Public Safety Arc to me is "Everyone wants to be loved." And Denji learning that there's different kinds of love and how he thought he only wanted the sexual kind but he was actually happier with the familial kind (And how his whole world shattered when it was taken from him.)

My favorite part in Chainsaw man is when Denji was taking care of Power. The fact that there was absolutely nothing sexual at all about it, even noted by horn dog Denji himself, was very beautiful. I feel that a lot of manga would’ve sexualized her but instead we see an opposite sex platonic love dynamic.

I feel like the csm fandom is split into two sides, the old weebs and the new weebs. The old weebs fucking adore the series because it kinda is a fucked up parody of what shonen is and it touches topics alot of authors avoid or dont explore enough. Thus makes A LOT of shonen kinda boring and bland bc they all use the same.... recipe? (Idk what to call it) to create their story and in turn often become copies of each other. And csm is so serious and gut wrenching at times while never taking itself too seriously. It takes old tropes and puts a new spin on it.
The newer weebs though haven't read hundreds of slightly different copies of the same story because they haven't been into manga long enough (no shame in that!!) and thus may like or dislike the story but aren't as down bad for the story as older weebs because for them it's another shonen and for us it's a breath of fresh air.
BUT this is all just a theory in my head so don't take it too seriously

What i love about Chainsaw Man is even though it is “down bad” as you described, it has some of the most emotional scenes and events I have read in a manga in a long time (if not ever).

Saying you need a very high iq to appreciate certain anime is the most low iq thing you could say

It's in my top 5 but for me 'Monster ' Is the greatest story ever told.

My guy sounds like a Rick and morty fan, also you really think you need to be "down bad" to understand denji then that's just sad.

That constant theme is love, the everlasting, heart wrenching longing for it.

CSM and AOT are conjoined as my two favourite manga/anime (when the anime comes out)

I just wish some of the characters had more time in frame. Some dudes just show up and die and some dudes appear and disappear with no real explanation.

“Need a high IQ to fully appreciate it”
Let’s be honest, most anime watchers are following it for some form of degeneracy.

⚠️SPOILERS⚠️
The only problem with Chainsaw Man to me is that I didn’t really get attached to any of the characters. My favorites were Power and the Shark Fiend/Devil but I wasn’t to surprised when I saw them die. Death in this series got so repetitive that it just wasn’t a shock anymore. I would probably have to reread it to get a grasp on the characters that are “memorable” (outside Denji, Power, Aki and Makima) because half the time on first read it felt like they were just there.
