At this point in time, No Lead was not a requirement on any autos, that didn't happen until 1971 with the Buick Skylark. This 68 Plymouth really wouldn't have run as well on No Lead as it would have with Leaded gasoline

Amoco led the way for lead free gasoline to come to life. Hopefully, their Plymouth Satellite ran much better than my folks' car. Love that green color. Perhaps it got a 383 4bbl under the hood. Plymouth, RIP.

I'll bet they'll traded in that gorgeous '68 Belvedere coupe for a station wagon the first time they had to do the back-breaking "2-Door Contortion Routine" buckling their little one into the back seat; let's hope it's next life wasn't in the hands of some teenager who used it up quickly. Maybe we'll see it at Mecum someday!

Why did we ever put that stuff in gasoline in the first place, surely there had to be an alternative
